  General Notes:

Jethro's parents were William Martin Huchingson and Martha Ellen Henderson according to a memorial at FindAGrave.com. The death certificate has J. C. Huchingson for his father. (James Calvin Huchingson was his brother according to the news of his death.) The informant was Mrs. A. L. Denson of Center City, Texas. She had no information for his mother.

Jethro Peyton and Sarah Permelia Grimes Huchingson Sarah Permelia, Lewis Payton Grimes' daughter from his first marriage to Amanda Caroline Hilliard, married Jethro Payton Huchingson, the brother of Sarah Ann Huchingson Williams, Lewis Grimes' second wife, on July 11, 1872. Sarah Ann's marriage to Lewis must have been the reason Sarah Permelia and Jethro met, courted and married.

J.P. and Sarah came to Mills County from Bell County probably around 1879. They had a son, Thomas, born March 20, 1874. He died September 8, 1875. On September 25, 1875, a little girl, Mary, was born to them. On April 20, 1877, another little girl, Nora, was born, but died August 19, 1878. J. P., Sarah, and Mary wanted to go back to Bell County for a visit. While there, tragedy struck again. Mary developed whooping cough and died October 30, 1880. All three of these small children are buried in the Moffat Cemetary, which Irene Franklin, the Huchingson's granddaughter, was able to find on August 11, 1997. When J.P. and Sarah left Bell County to return to their home in Mills County, they had no children. But God blessed them with four more children, William Payton, Minnie, Edna, and Sadie - Irene's mother. Their home was a farm between Center City and Star, some thirteen miles east of Goldthwaite. This was the birth place of their youngest daughter, Sadie Bell Huchingson, and would also become the birth place of Sadie's daughter, Edith Irene Davis.

The Hamilton Herald-Record, Hamilton, Texas, 1929 - Hico News, January 18, 1929
Captain J. C. Huchingson received a mesage last Thursday that his brother, J. P. Huchingson, had passed away at his home at Goldthwaite on that day. Services were held on Friday and internment made in the Goldthwaite cemetery. He has visited his brother here several times, his last visit being made on the seventh of November, when he was present for his brother's ninety-first birthday. (James Calvin Huchingson's 91st birthday).
