When he registered for the WWI draft, he was a mechanic working for Weir Smelting Company in Caney, Kansas. In 1920 he was the proprietor of a garage. His wife, Martha, was the bookkeeper. They rented their home in Caney, Montgomery County, Kansas. At the time of the 1930 census, William was an automobile repairer. He owned his home in Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas. It was valued at $2600. His father in law, John E. Tomlinson, and a nephew Howard Tomlinson were living with him. He became an electrician in charge of the City Light Plant at Caney, Kansas.
Teb married Martha Frances Tomlinson, daughter of John E. Tomlinson and Martha Louisa Dunn, about 1912. (Martha Frances Tomlinson was born on 5 Sep 1883 in Missouri 9 and died on 6 Nov 1933 10.)
