John Avery Shoults
July 25, 1938 - November 9, 2015

John Shoults, 77, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at High Hope Care Center.

John was owner and operator of Westlake Upholstery for 46 years. He served as a medic in United States navy. John loved to play golf, hunt and camp with his best friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

John is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia Dugas Shoults; his children, John H. Shoults and wife Partini of San Jose, CA, Kathleen Sliman and husband Peter of Leesville, LA and Marilyn Reed and husband Michael of Moss Bluff, LA; one stepson, Michael Barfield and wife Jerrie of Pineville, LA; his grandchildren, Joyce Shoults, Michael A. Reed, Eden Sliman and Madison Barfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Joyce Robertson Shoults; his siblings, Jack Shoults, Elizabeth Hunt and Henry Shoults; and his parents, Henry and Jennie Shoults.

Services for John will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10 am at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Leesville, LA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4-9 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Thursday from 8 am until the time of service.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Darlene Kelly and all those who cared for John, loved him, and prayed for him.

John married Eva Joyce Robertson on 19 Jun 1957. (Eva Joyce Robertson was born on 30 May 1939, died on 4 Dec 1987 and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Leesville, Vernon Parish, Louisiana ³.)

John next married Patricia Dugas.
