  General Notes:

According to naturalization papers (Austin County, Texas), he arrived in America July 1869 from Prussia. He became a citizen the same day he married Minna Garlipp, 6 Sep 1871.

The 1870 census for Austin County, Texas, listed Henry F.W. Koch as living with Christian and Anna Koch. He was from Brunswick Germany (the same town as Christian Koch). His occupation was wagon maker. He may have been Christian's brother or cousin. The relationship was not indicated on the census. His wife Minna was Christian's stepdaughter.

Minnie told this story about her first husband Henry F.W. Koch. He and some others took produce to Houston, Texas, from Industry, Texas, to sell. The men were stopped outside of Houston and told that there was an illness in Houston and that they shouldn't enter. Since they needed to sell their products, they drew straws to decide who would take the produce into Houston. Minnie's husband took the produce in to sell. He became ill and died.
