A memorial service for Patricia Rose Carey White Martin, 86, of Cleburne, Texas was, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Cleburne. The Rev. Robert Herzig officiated.
Patricia Rose Carey White Martin passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve morning, December 24, 2010.
Pat was born on July 25, 1924, in Waco, Texas to Anna Claire & John Bernard Carey.
After graduating from high school, she married William Royce White and together they had three daughters. Pat later married Charles Martin of Cleburne.
Most of Pat's life was dedicated to being a mother and homemaker enthusiast. She loved being with her family more than anything. She also loved playing bridge with her friends, gardening, and cherished her Irish heritage. While in Houston, for many years she worked as a credit manager with Monarch Paint Company and she was also a long standing member of Terrace United Methodist Church. In 1986 she moved to Cleburne, immediately joined the First United Methodist Church, and worked as a credit manager for her daughter Pat at McCarty Supply Co. She retired from McCarty Supply in 1996 and continued working as a community-volunteer. Pat served with organizations including Kings Daughters, Walls Regional Hospital, Meals on Wheels and the Altar Guild of her church.
Pat is preceded in death by husbands, William Royce White and Charles Martin; daughter, Regina Ann White Borgfeld of Houston; sisters, Regina Odom and Alice Hodge, both of San Antonio and Agnes Ryan of Waco; and her brother Col. Jack B. Carey of San Antonio.
Pat is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Pat & Wayne Maggard of Cleburne, DK & Mike Reynolds of Austin; son-in-law, Doug Borgfeld; grandchildren, Matt McCarty, Jayd McCarty, Erik Borgfeld, Steve Borgfeld, and Kley Reynolds; stepdaughter and her husband, Shelly & Sam Samuels of Cleburne, and their children Adam and Aaron Samuels.
An Old Irish Blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Patricia married William Royce White, son of William Collin White and Mary Lottie Nolen. (William Royce White was born on 28 Apr 1922 in , McLennan County, Texas 2 and died on 7 May 2003 3.)
Patricia next married Charles Martin.
