  General Notes:

When Henry registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was farming for himself on Osage, Coryell County, Texas. His wife Bertie was his nearest relative. At the time of the 1920 census, Henry was renting his home in Coryell County, Texas. He was a general farmer.

At the time of the 1930 census, Henry was widowed. He was an officer at the State Juvenile Training School in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas. He paid $10 a month rent. This time he said both parents were born in Arkansas. (His death certificate also gave Arkansas for both.) His children were living with his brother Claud E. Boyd in Coryell County, Texas. His mother and sisters, Minnie and Eva, were also living with Claud.

Henry married Bertha Mae Ward, daughter of Edward Wesley Ward and Polly Ann Roberts. (Bertha Mae Ward was born on 12 Feb 1888 in , Marshall County, Mississippi,⁸ died on 30 Nov 1926 in Oglesby, Coryell County, Texas ^{8 9} and was buried in Osage Cemetery, Osage, Coryell County, Texas ^{7 8}.). The cause of her death was tuberculosis.⁵
