COMMERCE - Wilbert Leroy McCrummen, 87, of Commerce died at his residence on March 15, 2008.
Funeral services were at First Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial followed in Rosemound Cemetery.
The son of James Barney and Mable Cross McCrummen, he was born May 9, 1920.
He married Frances Kraatz on Sept. 6, 1943, in Belton.
Mr. McCrummen retired from B.F. Goodrich and was a member of First Baptist Church in Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters Ninetta Wallace, Odessa Fisher, Lottie Ann Evans and Shirley Boozer; and six brothers, Ray McCrummen, Leslie McCrummen, L.D. Hill, J.B. McCrummen, James Rayburn McCrummen and Buford McCrummen.
Survivors are his wife, Frances McCrummen; a son, Ronald Ray McCrummen; a granddaughter, Robyn Rae Peltier; a grandson, Brian Lee McCrummen; five great-grandchildren, Cailee Brown, Bernadette Peltier, Johnblaise Peltier, Logan Lee McCrummen and Jake Evan McCrummen; three sisters, Idell Cothran of Georgetown, Doris Botcher and husband Jerry of Houston, MN; and Lenora McGehee of Canyon Lake; two brothers, Virgil McCrummen of Princeton and Clifford McCrummen and wife Myrna of Georgetown.
Pallbearers were Elliott Ball, Carl Chandler, Dewayne Kerbow, Gary Don Kraatz, David Doan and Bill Ray Roester.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Presbyterian Hospital.
Note: Cailee Madison Brown is a step great grandchild. She is the daughter of Kelly Le Anne Ball and her first husband Christopher Allan Brown. Kelly then married Wilbert's grandson Brian Lee McCrummen.
Social Security had his last residence as Commerce, Hunt County, Texas.
Wilbert married Frances Lucille Kraatz, daughter of Ben Franklin Kraatz and Bernice Elnora Presley.
