  General Notes:

Pearl's parents were Frank Oldham and Mary Maddox. Her mother was born in Georgia. Her father died near the time of her birth. On the 1900 census, his birth place was recorded as Mississippi. On the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census, it was recorded as Texas. (At the time of the 1880 census, there were 2 Frank Oldhams living in Texas that were born in Mississippi. One was probably her father and where he was raised was confused with where he was born in later years.)

At the time of the 1900 census, Pearl's mother was widowed and had moved the family back to Vineyard, Washington County, Arkansas from Indian Territory. There were 5 children: Mattie and Jessie, born in Arkansas, and Dovie, Loren T., and Leona Pearl, born in Indian Territory. They were listed beside her maternal grandparents, E. T. and Nancy Maddox (spelled Matox on the census page). At the time of the 1910 census, the family was living in Lees Creek, Adair County, Oklahoma, where her mother was a general farmer and owned her farm free of mortgage. The 3 youngest children were still at home. By the time of the 1920 census, Pearl's mother had remarried to W. P. Adair. Dovie and Pearl were part of his household in Stillwelle, Adair County, Oklahoma.

At the time of the 1930 census, Pearl, Commie, and their 3 sons were living in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. Her last residence was Cleburne.
