James came with his father James from Coleraine, Ireland about 1737 and settled in Augusta Co., CA. His father settled in Lancaster Co., PA. They were of the colony that settled on Burdon's grant in the then Trans-Allegheny wilderness of WA.
John Robertson of Scotland was the beginning of the Robertson Clan. King James II conferred the Coat of Arms to him for saving him from a would-be-assassin. John's sons - John and James went to Ireland when King James II tried to colonize the island with Scotch Presbyterians to supplant the Irish Catholics.
James married Elizabeth Crawford. (Elizabeth Crawford was born about 1725 1.)
