Funeral services for Miss Mary E. Noble, who passed away last week after a prolonged illness, were conducted by Rev. S. J. Megaw Friday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church of which she had been a member for more than 30 years. A large attendance was present and many beautiful flowers from friends who had known the deceased during her life time residence in this community were in evidence. Appropriate songs were sung by Mrs. Rodgers, Mrs. Avery and Miss Young. Miss Reddish presiding at the piano. Pall bearers were John A. Canning, H. M. Newell, C. W. Smallwood, Wade Shaw, C. T. Porter and W. A. Wilkin. Interment was in Oak View Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Noble was born in Keokuk, Iowa, Jan. 3, 1856, and died in Albia, Iowa, Feb. 16, 1926, aged 70 years and 13 days.

Her father, Willis Noble, died in 1855 and her mother, Mrs. Emma Hedric Noble passed away in 1917.

In her earlier days the deceased learned the trade of dressmaking and for many years was engaged in this line of life in Albia, where practically she lived all her life, except for short visits with relatives in California and other places.

She was received into full membership of the Presbyterian Church March 5, 1893, on profession of faith and baptism, remained a consistent member all through these years and was very regular at every meeting of the Missionary society so long as her health permitted her to attend.

She is survived by an uncle, E. Mart Noble of Albia, three cousins, Mrs. George Alexander and Mrs. S. T. Craig of Albia and Will Noble of Oskaloosa and other relatives in California, Idaho and Illinois. Mrs. Blanche Noble Griffith of Oskaloosa was present at the funeral.

Mary's 1915 Iowa state census card showed that she was single, she had 8 years of grammar school. She lived in Albia, Monroe County.
