![]() General Notes: Joseph was a blacksmith. At the time of the 1870 census, he lived in Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. His surviving children were all born in Nebraska between 1873 and 1878. At the time of the 1880 census, he was working as a baker in Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska. He had 2 boarders in the household, a 7 year old girl, M.E. Ross, and a 15 year old girl, M. Carpenter. At the time of the 1900 census, he rented his home in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. At that time two lodgers were listed with the household: Reuben Foster, 21 a stenographer born in Oregon, and Theodore Felang, 24 a bookkeeper born in Greece who immigrated to America in 1887. ![]() Joseph married Mary E.
