Edith Lucile Ray, of 2915 1/2 Sandra Ave. died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness. Edith Lucile Armstrong was born July 29, 1909, in Grand Junction where she spent her childhood and attended schools. She was married Oct. 25, 1931, to Averon Harry Ray in Grand Junction. Mr. Ray, a miner, died in Grand Junction, April 27, 1971. (1972 according to his Social Security Death Index listing.) Mrs. Ray had also been a resident of Ouray and Montrose. She was a member of the Congregational Church. Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Dixie) Myers of Denver, Mrs. Georgia Scharf of Aurora, Mrs. Tom (Donna) Maynard of Parker, CO, Mrs. Van J. (Carolyn) Rathbun of Riverton, WY; sons, Stanley D. Ray and Gerald Ray, both of Grand Junction, Charles E. Ray of Joplin, MO; sister, Mary Elizabeth "Peggy" Stewart of Leadville; 18 grandchildren.

Social Security had her last benefit and last residence as Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado.
