Marcy Head, 86, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Independence Chapel.
Interment: Greenwood Mausoleum.
Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood.

Marcy was born Nov. l6, 1928, in Bowie, but lived most of her life in Fort Worth. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended TCU. She was married 66 years to her high school sweetheart and raised two children. Marcy devoted her life to the support of her family and friends. In the sixties, she was a "grey lady" and head of volunteers at the local Red Cross.

She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and wit. She was often the mastermind of a practical joke. She was an artistic person and spent many years exercising her creative skills in various forms of artwork. She also made sure that her children devoted some of their time to the arts. Marcy had an appreciation for nature's beauty and enjoyed spending time working in her gardens and greenhouse. She also had a love for animals and raised many domestic (and other) pets during her lifetime.

Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Leila Raines. Survivors: Husband, Barton Head; daughter, Jeanine Moore; son, Steve Head and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Justin Moore and Amanda, Brian and Jessica Moore, Christina Head and Arthur Aven, Kelsey Head; and great-grandchildren Jakob, BrieAnn, Hanna and Vanessa.
