By the time of the 1900 and 1910 census, Sarah had borne 5 children with 3 still living. On the 1900 census she indicated that her father was born in South Carolina, her mother in Illinois. On the 1910 and 1920 census, the father's birthplace was shown as North Carolina. By the time of the 1920 census, she had become widowed. She was living with her son Clyde in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.

Sarah married Henry L. George, son of James George and Catherine Willard, about 1873. (Henry L. George was born in Dec 1852 in Illinois and died before 1920.)
