Cause of his death was cerebral thrombosis due to hypertensive arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, angina pectoris.7

Carl was listed as a farm laborer on the 1900 census. At the time of the 1910 and 1920 census, Carl owned his home in Coryell County, Texas, free of any mortgage. He was a letter carrier on a rural mail route. By the time of the 1930 census, the family had moved to Temple, Bell County, Texas, where Carl worked as a house carpenter. He rented his home for $22 a month.
Carl's last residence was Waco, McLennan County, Texas. He lived there 29 years. He was a clerk at the Army Air Base.
