When Michael registered for the World War I draft on 5 Jun 1917, he lived in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and worked as a truck driver for Carter Oil Company. He was supporting his parents and a wife. At the time of the 1930 census, Michael was living in a rented house in Tecumseh, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. He was listed with his wife Ella. He was a carpenter doing general construction. His father was born in Ireland, his mother in Canada. In 1935 and 1940, Michael lived in Tecumseh, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. He was a carpenter. He owned his home valued at $600. When he registered for the World War II draft on 25 Apr 1942, he was working for Cowan Construction Co., Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. He and Mary Ellen lived in Tecumseh.

He had lived in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas for six months prior to his death.
