Her parents were Richard C. and Mary Emily "Millie" Frost. The Alabama born family came to Texas between 1857 and 1860. At the time of the 1860 census, they were living in Grey Rock, Titus County, Texas. The family consisted of her parents, Frances E. 7, Louisa J. 5, and Ephraim W. 3. By the time of the 1870 census, they had moved to Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas. Her mother was listed as Emily. The new Texas born children in the household were Thomas J. 8, Laura 6, and George W. 2.

In the 1880 census, she is listed as Eliza J. A. Head. In the 1900 census, she indicated that she had borne 2 children and none were living. She is listed as Louisa J. A. Her widowed mother Millie was living with her brother George and his family next to them. In the 1910 census, she gave the same answers to the childbearing and parentage questions, but she is listed as Alice. At the time of the 1920 and 1930 census, she was widowed and living with (step) grandson Chester Richie. She is listed as Alice. Her death record was recorded as Luisa J. A. Head.

(William Newton Head was born on 2 Feb 1838 in , Blount County, Alabama, United States,10 died on 22 Mar 1919 in , Johnson County, Texas 10 11 and was buried on 22 Mar 1919 in Bethany Cemetery, Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas 10 12.). The cause of his death was nephritis due to endocarditis.
