He was a carpenter working for the US Engineers. He was living in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas prior to his death. The informant on his death certificate was Mrs. J. H. Spoonemore of Gatesville.

Obituary:
Jesse Marion Atchison, widely known resident of Comanche County for many years, passed away August 18 at the home of his eldest daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Spoonemore at Gatesville. Mr Atchison was 61 years, 11 months, and 11 days of age at the time of his death.
