He was recorded as a seaman on New York Passenger Lists from 1925-1951 with jobs of pump man, chief engineer, and second assistant. .He was a first assistant engineer in the merchant marines when counted on the 1930 census. He was listed 1 Apr 1930 in Galveston, Texas and again 15 Apr 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana on the SS West Camak. His death certificate showed that he was a retired marine engineer, M.E.B.A. He was in Hillhaven Convalescent Center, Texas City, Galveston County, Texas, for 3 months prior to his death, but his usual residence was La Marque in that county.

(Marie Hannah Kylberg was born on 5 Feb 1898 in New Sweden, Travis County, Texas,13 died on 25 Jan 1968 in Texas City, Galveston County, Texas 12 13 and was buried on 28 Jan 1968 in Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, , Texas 13.). The cause of her death was pulmonary embotism due to pulmonary emphysema and influenza. She had post tuberculosis thoracoplasty..10
