Rodney "Rod" Freitag Teague
March 22, 1939 - March 14, 2014
Rodney (Rod) Freitag Teague, age 74, passed away March 14, 2014. Born March 22, 1939, he was a proud, native Austinite. Rod was a fun-spirited, and loving husband, father and grandfather. Known to many as being out-spoken, he lived his life fully, with no fear and no regrets. After a short battle against brain cancer, he was blessed to be surrounded by many loving family members in his final moments.
Rod was a long time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he enjoyed the fellowship of his Adult V Sunday School class. He was fiercely passionate about his family and demonstrated this daily to his wife, daughters, and grandchildren through his unwavering support, loyalty and concern for them. Rod's love extended to many family members and friends, who will miss his quick wit and the joyful way he embraced life.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna and Bert Teague, and his sisters, Myrna Goldstein and Melba Hyde. Rod will be deeply missed by his wife, Martha Teague; daughter, Cheryl Evans and husband, Scott ; daughter, Susan Morgan and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Chelsea West, Nathan and Noah Evans, Cale and Davis Morgan; and siblings, Paulette Gould and husband, Bill; Kathleen Gregory and husband, Robert; Bert Teague and wife, Georgia; Emitt Teague and wife, Cricket; Tim Teague and Alma Mae Teague. Rod is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the kind, compassionate staff of the West Oaks Rehab and Healthcare Center for their gentle and loving care for him during his final few weeks.
In lieu in flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church's "Continue the Vision" building fund.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harrell Funeral Home, located at 4435 Frontier Trail Austin, Texas. Rod's life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, located at 4600 Manchaca, Road, Austin, Texas.

Rodney married Martha Pearl Bunting, daughter of Lawrence Clifton Bunting and Vera Lucille Poer.
