Doris Elva McNiel
Doris Elva McNiel of Goldthwaite, Texas passed away June 7, 2011 at Abilene, Texas. She was 100 years of age.

Doris was born January 1, 1911 in Mills County, Texas to Watson Wright and Maggie Petsick Wright. She married Morgan McNiel on November 29, 1931 in Mills County, and lived here all of her life.

She was affiliated with the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

Services were held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel, Goldthwaite, Texas. Dayton House and Glenn Murray officiated.

Interment was a Caradan Cemetery, Mills County, Texas.

Pallbearers included Mark Gilchrest, Tony Gilchrest, Patrick Dandley, Gary McNiel, Charles Faktor, Martin Factor, Jason Lanham and Weston Ray.

Jeff Lanham was Honarary Pallbearer.

Survivors include children Valeta Gilchrest, Abilene, Texas, Dorman Wayne McNiel and Pic, Goldthwaite, Texas, Noel McNiel and Carolyn, Fort Worth, Texas, Mary Lou Faktor and Martin, Bossier City, LA, Bonnie Beth Taylor and Les, Munford, TN; twenty grandchildren, host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and brother Niel Wright and Letha Pearl of Killeen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Watson and Maggie Wright; husband Morgan McNiel; three daughters, Sue Dandley, Naida Ruth Baxter, Donna Faye Lanham; six grandchildren Shannon Davis, Bryan Edwards, Tim Gilchrest, Kenny Baxter, Ray Taylor, Bruce Edwards; brother Duward Wright; and sister Inza Hazeltine.

Doris married Morgan Dougal McNiel, son of Jesse William McNiel and Martha Ann Head. (Morgan Dougal McNiel was born on 25 Aug 1904 in , Mills County, Texas,^{3 4} died on 14 Nov 1976 in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas ^{3 4 5} and was buried on 15 Nov 1976 in Caradan Cemetery, Caradan, Mills County, Texas ^{4 6}.). The cause of his death was acute myocardial infarction due to coronary arteriosclerosis and hypertension.
