WILLIAM LEWIS GOODALL Publication Date: May 7, 2007 KERRVILLE - William Lewis Goodall passed from this world on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at home with his wife of 64 years and holding the hand of his daughter, Connie. Bill suffered a massive stroke on April 22 and spent his final days being cared for by his large and loving family, including his daughter, Betty, who moved in to care for him.
Bill was born in Junction, Texas, to Alexander Monroe Goodall and Mary Goodall on April 28, 1923. He was a rancher when he married Juanita Crumbley on June 5, 1942, in Menard, Texas. Bill was honorably discharged from the United States Army on May 7, 1943. After spending time in Alpine, Bill and Nita settled in Kerrville in 1955. They built their home on the banks of the Guadalupe River in 1968. For over 20 years Bill and Nita operated Curry Motor Freight in Kerrville while raising their family.
Bill was an avid gardener and a master of the barbecue pit. He loved time spent fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Twilight Club, CB Club and was a Little League coach for his son's team. Bill and Nita traveled extensively in their RV through all of the western states, stopping at every horse race along the way.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joe Goodall and Felton Goodall.
Bill is survived by his wife, Juanita Crumbley Goodall; his children - daughters Sandy Domingues (Charles), Connie Jetton (Bobby), and Betty Goodall; and one son, Billy Don Goodall; grandchildren Kellie Goben (Griff), Dianna Wright (John Wellborn), Christian Domingues, Candy Moore (Elton), Chuck Domingues, Teri Stieren (George) and Robert Hall; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Andrews (Joann); and his sister, Wilma Castleman.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Grimes Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery in Eden, Texas, with Benny McIntire, Dale McIntire, Willie Hill, Dennis Hill, Kyle Wright, Dylan Cannon, John Wellborn, Kenneth Goodall and Chuck Domingues serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 7.
