Susie Poer of Goldthwaite, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Cross Country Healthcare Center. She was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Poer was born July 1, 1924 in Mills County, Texas to William Henry Bessent and Martha Hawkins Bessent. She married John Milton Poer on January 5, 1947 in Mills County, Texas. He passed away on August 20, 1980. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Services were held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite, Texas. Steve Baker officiated. Interment was at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mills County, Texas.
Pallbearers included Rex Bessent, Carroll Bunting, Bobby Duren, Edwin Bessent, Anthony Steve, and Scott Drake.
Survivors include two sons and spouses Arlan Wayne and Carolyn Poer of Sanger, Texas and Randall Mark and Sharon Poer of Early, Texas; two daughters Norma Dean Boese of Brownwood, Texas and Lonita Gayle Steve of Whitehouse, Texas; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters Marie Hamilton and Lola Belle Duren; numerous nieces and nephews; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas handled arrangements.
