Iva Katherine Gilbert

Mrs. Cockrell was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Elmer Worth and Susie Mae Turner Gilbert. She married Hoyt Harvey Cockrell on June 14, 1947 in Stephenville, Texas. She lived in Mills County all of her married life. Iva was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Mills County Retired Teachers, and Tuesday Study Club. She was a retired teacher.She passed away at Hillview Manor Nursing Home in Goldthwaite.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; one daughter; two sisters-in-law; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Dan Gilbert; a sister, Josephine Carpenter; and a son-in-law, Doug Doggett.
