Lula Mae Casbeer
Lula Mae Casbeer was born on November 21, 1922 in Mills County, the daughter of Ira and Ethel Soules Neighbours. On April 15, 1943, she married Carl Casbeer in Hamilton, Texas.

As a lifelong member of Star United Methodist Church, Lula Mae lived her faith as an example for others. She passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Hillview Manor in Goldthwaite, Texas.

Survivors include her children Karry and Sheryll Harper of Star, grandchildren Keith and Georgia Harper of Center City, Tommy and Sonya Scott of Albuquerque, great-grandchildren Logan Harper, Thomas Scott, Luke Harper, Mason Scott, and Levi Harper. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews. Lula Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister and brother-in-law Wilson and Iva Pearl Neighbors Head.

From her childhood, Lula Mae was actively involved in the operation of the family farm and ranch. She recognized the gifts from God and took great pleasure in taking care of the land, animals and plants put in her responsibility. She also counted her family, friends, quilting group and opportunities for service to others as special gifts from God.

Each of us have treasured memories of Lula Mae stored forever in our hearts. Remember them and smile knowing she loved you unconditionally.

Graveside services were held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Hurst Ranch Cemetery near Star, Texas with Laura Green, Jeff Muehl and Sam Campbell officiating.

Pallbearers were Sam Campbell, Mike Drury, Don Johnson, Clint Miles, Richard Schulze, Bob Usrey, and Greg Witty, members of Star United Methodist Church.

Arrangements handled by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas.

Lula married Carl Mack Casbeer, son of Mack Fernando Casbeer and Martha Emma Blackburn, on 15 Apr 1943. (Carl Mack Casbeer was born on 12 Oct 1920 in Center City, Mills County, Texas, died on 17 Sep 1986 in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas and was buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery, Hamilton County, Texas ³.)
