Services for Orville Rogers, 40, of Ranger were officiated by Rev. Jim Lang, pastor of Merriman Baptist Church. Rogers died following a lengthy illness.

He married Mary Hannah Barnhart on 15 February 1971 in California.

He served in the US Army from 1959-1961.

He was an oil field worker. He moved to Ranger from Kermit in 1953.

Survivors: wife; two sons - Rocky and Breck; four daughters - Mrs. Charles "Elizabeth" Taylor, Vicki, Tammy and Nicole Rogers; his mother - Mrs Eunice Rogers of Breckenridge; five brothers - Garland, George, R.D., Harry and Henry; eight sisters - Mrs. Lucille Hunt, Mrs. Colene King, Mrs. Lou Ellen Venekamp, Mrs. Loice Covy, Mrs. Lorrine Chandler, Mrs. Joe Lester, Mrs. Virginia Dawson, Mrs. Sue Jones; two granddaughters.

Sonny married Mary Hannah Barnhart.
