She was a longtime resident of Spicewood, Burnet County, Texas, moving there a few years after marrying her first husband, A.J. Wall. They were school teachers and together bought the majority of his family ranch (originally the Mike and Minnie Wall place) from his siblings and mother. She lived on the ranch until her death.

She accidentally shot and killed her first husband, A.J. Wall.

Social Security had her last residence as Spicewood, Travis County, Texas. Spicewood Post Office serves parts of Burnet, Travis and Blanco Counties. The town is actually in Burnet County, but Social Security logs it as Travis County in the Death Index.

(Arthur James Wall was born on 11 May 1924 in , Burnet County, Texas,^{3 4} died on 22 Jun 1978 in Spicewood, Burnet County, Texas ^{4 5 6} and was buried in Rockvale Cemetery, Spicewood, Burnet County, Texas ^{4 7}.). The cause of his death was gunshot wound to head. Ruled an accident following an autopsy and inquest. His wife, Shirley shot him.
