Notes for Sebastian Brosius:
He lived in Bethel Twp., Berks Co. until 1773. He then removed to the present site of "Georgetown" or Dalmatia. Sebastian Brosius, of Tulpehocken Twp., Berks Co., was naturalized 8-1-1764. He served as a member of the Committee of Safety of Northumberland Co., from MahanoyTwp., from Aug. 13, 1776 to Feb. 13, 1777. Taxed in Mahanoy Twp. for many years, he was the first constable in 1775. From 1783-1785, was taxed with a sawmill. The tract he purchased in 1773 was named"Fellowship" and included the site of Georgetown, where Thomas McKeethe Indian trader lived and where John George Brosius (son of Sebastian) lived. Some of this information was gathered from the magazine or newsletter called " Our Keystone Families" Column #1047,Part 2.
Church of Latter Day Saints give Sebastian's place of birth as Weierbach, Rhineland, Germany.
