She immigrated to the United States in 1881 from Württemberg, Germany. On the 1910 census, Freda was listed as manager of the home farm. All the children were farm laborers. She had a mortgage on the farm. Freda was listed ont he 1920 census as a stock farmer in Blanco County, Texas. She owned her farm. Her son Henry lived with her and was a farm laborer as was Jacob who was married and lived next to them.
