At the time of the 1910 census, William was a general farmer on a rented farm in Coryell County, Texas. His wife Annie was listed as a farm laborer. When he registered for the WWI draft on 5 Jun 1917, William was farming for himself three miles north west from Bland, Bell County, Texas. He had a wife and 2 children and claimed an exemption for the support of his family. At the time of the 1920 census, William was a general farmer in Bell County, Texas. He owned his home free of mortgage. His brother, Thomas Wall, farmed beside him. In 1930 William's mother in law, Molly M. Holt, was living with the family. His grandfather, Henwell L. Tutor, 84, farmed beside him.
Social Security had his last residence as Temple, Bell County, Texas.
