  General Notes:

At the time of the 1900 census, Herbert was single, living in Marble Falls, Burnet County, Texas, and working as an editor. Herbert was editor and proprietor of a newspaper at the time of the 1910 census. He owned his home on 7th Street in Marble Falls free of mortgage. His mother-in-law, Adelia J. Lacy had the next house on the census. His brother John was boarding there. When Herbert registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was self employed as editor of the Messenger (Marble Falls newspaper). His wife, Nora, was his nearest relative. He lived in Marble Falls, Burnet County, Texas. At the time of the 1920 census, Herbert was still the editor of the local newspaper. He owned his home free of mortgage. At the time of the 1930 census, Herbert was state director of stream pollution [State Game and Fish Commission] in Austin, Travis County, Texas. He rented his home for $40 a month.

H. E. Faubion
Marble Falls, Texas (AP) -- H. E. (Pete) Faubion, former newspaper editor and officer of the State Game and Fish Commission, died Sunday night at his home. He was 87.

He was editor of the weekly "Marble Falls Messenger" from 1901 to 1929. During this time he also served as mayor of the town. He then began his career in Austin with the State Game and Fish Commission, serving as its director of law enforcement and assistant executive secretary. He retired in 1951 and returned to Marble Falls.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Marble Falls Methodist Church.
