By the time of the 1900 census, Sarah was widowed. She had borne 6 children with 5 still living. She was farming with her sons George and Alonzo on rented land in Williamson County, Texas. [Her age was shown as 53 which matches earlier reports fairly closely, but the birth date was shown as Nov 1856. Seems a math error.] Thomas Denniston, her brother, was the informant on her death certificate. He gave Thomas L. Denniston and Emily Burnham as the parents.
