Bernice Fields
Church service for Bernice Fields, age 90, of Lubbock, formerly of Morton, is scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Morton with Rev. Keith Wiseman of Lubbock and Rev. Jon Foster of Morton officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Fields died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006 in the Carillon House, Lubbock.

She was born July 21, 1915 in Mills County, TX. She married Cyrus W. Fields in Goldthwaite on Dec. 20, 1936. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband in 2001 and a sister, Ella Douglas Henry.

Mrs. Fields moved to Morton from Goldthwaite and from Morton to Lubbock in 1996. She taught school in Mills County, Morton, and Whiteface. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Morton.

Survivors include son, Todd Fields and wife, Zoellen of Lubbock; daughter, Diane White and her husband, Steve of San Antonio; sister, Ina Beth Wall of Evant, TX; brother, Oren Soules of Goldthwaite. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ryan White and wife, Kristy, Lindsay White and husband, Daniel, Russell Fields and wife, Bethany, Rebecca Fields and Justin Fields; 4 great-grandchildren, Colin and Benjamin Fields, Hannah White and Nolan White.

Memorial can be made to First United Methodist Church, 419 W. Taylor, Morton, TX 79346.

Bernice married Cyrus W. Fields on 20 Dec 1936 in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas. (Cyrus W. Fields was born on 13 Sep 1915, died on 25 Feb 2001 and was buried in Morton Memorial Cemetery, Morton, Cochran County ⁴.)
