Mr. Miles
Graveside services for J.T. Miles, 86, of San Saba are today at 10:30 a.m. at San Saba City Cemetery with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating.
Mr. Miles died Tuesday at Brownwood Regional Hospital.
He was born April 20, 1913, at Goldthwaite, the son of William Merion and Ida Mae Lorence Miles.
He married Faye Brooks on July 3, 1937, at San Saba.
Mr. Miles was a self employed painter. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of San Saba; daughters, Marie Vaughn, and husband, Joe, and Dennie Poer, all of San Saba; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Scotty Woodward, Roy Woodward, Dillard Brown, Tony Cantu, Roger Verette and G.C. Cummings.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Truman Miles; brothers Bennett Miles, Johnny Miles and an infant brother; and one sister, Nellie Maultsby.
The family requests memorials be made ot the San Saba EMS or the American Cancer Society.
Sheppard Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
