At the time of the 1910 census, he was a baseball pitcher. When Adam registered for the WWI draft on 5 Jun 1917, he was doing clerical work for Ray Consolidated Copper Co., in Hayden, Arizona. He had a wife and one child.
He was recorded as a professional baseball player for the period of 20 Apr 1914 to 16 Jul 1918.
"Major League Baseball Player. Pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of the American League and jumped to the Chicago Chi-Feds of the Federal League in 1914. The following year he played with the Baltimore Terrapins also of the Federal League. He returned to the majors to pitch six games with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1918 going 1-1.
