"LaVerne J. Free, age 81, of Austin, Texas passed away on Friday October 13, 2006. She was born on June 19, 1925 to Lambert and Amy Johnson in Hutto, Texas. She was employed at The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for 25 years in Austin, Texas. For over 50 years, she was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Lambert and Amy Johnson and her husband Morris Free and two brothers, Ralph and Lester Johnson. She is survived by her son, Donald M. Free and his wife, Suzanne; her daughter, Gale Ashley and her husband Michael; two grandsons, Jason Prescott Free and Dustin Wayne Ashley and brother Dennis Johnson and wife, Nadine; sister, Patsy Heckmann and husband Raymond and brother, Ronald Johnson and wife Dianna...."
