The part of South Carolina where she was born is now Pickens County. At the time of the 1860 census, Delilah was listed as head of household and as a farmer in Blount County, Alabama. She had real estate valued at $600 and $890 in personal assets. Her children, Bailey, Delilah, Seaborn and James, were also listed as farmers.

Delilah married James Bynum, son of Jesse Bynum and Jane Benefield, in 1819. (James Bynum was born about 1787 in South Carolina and died in 1863 in , Blount County, Alabama, United States.)
