Kevin Ray Koen, 41, died on June 11, 2015.
Kevin attended schools around the world before graduating from high school in Farmington, New Mexico in 1992. A proud member of the Class of 1996, Kevin graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At the time of his death, Kevin had worked for Chevron Energy Technology Company for over ten years and was the Unit Manager for Drilling Engineering.
He married Rachel A. Barnes on June 6, 1998 in Houston, Harris County.
Kevin was an avid outdoorsman. He grew up rock climbing and rafting. As an adult, Kevin competed in cyclocross, road and mountain bike racing for Bike Lane. He loved sharing this passion with the loves of his life, Rachel and Cameron.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rachel, and their son, Cameron. He is also survived by his parents, Ray and Ginger Koen, of Goldthwaite, Texas; his brother, Kyle, and family, also of Goldthwaite, Texas; his in-laws, Mike and Sally Barnes, of Magnolia, Texas; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Houston, Texas on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 3:00pm in the main chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Kevin's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Houston SPCA.
Kevin married Rachel Anne Barnes, daughter of Mike Barnes and Sally.
