General Notes:
Bobby (Bob) Donald Green was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Mullin, Texas, to parents Amos and Louella Hodges Green. A brother, James, was 3 years old. Both parents died that year, so the two boys were reared by their grandmother, Jes-sie Duren Green.
Bob graduated from Mullin High School in 1946, from John Tarleton Agricultural College in 1948 and from Texas Tech in 1950 with a BBA degree and a commission in the Air Force. He married Nedra Jones in 1950 at Putnam, Texas. The couple moved to Knippa, Texas, where both taught school. Bob was su-perintendent his third year there. He was called into active duty the summer of 1953, to be stationed at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas. He served his requisite 2 years there as a courier officer.
While employed by Dolph Briscoe in Uvalde, Bob was offered the posi-tion of assistant manager of Southwestern Peanut Growers Association in Gorman, Texas.
The couple moved to Gorman and stayed there the next 31 years, where Nedra taught school. Their son, Randy, was born here in 1960.
In 1989, they both retired to Mills County to happily run their ranch.
After a lengthy illness, Bob was taken to his heav-enly home two weeks be-fore his 93rd birthday. He leaves a loving family: wife, Nedra; son Randy and wife Mary; five grandchil-dren (Teresa, spouse An-drew Owen; Lori, spouse Ryan Pipan; John, partner Sarah Littlefield; Joseph, partner Carrie Cullen; and Catherine); three great grandchildren, Nat and Ned Owen; Adelaide Pipan; a nephew, Jimmy Green and wife Jackie; and a niece, Gayla Boucher and hus-band Mike.
A graveside service was conducted in Duren Cem-etery by Rev. M, Marvin Ewertt, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Goldthwaite. In lieu of flowers, donations may be provided to the Duren Cem-etery Association. Arrangements by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas 1
