She moved from Hurst to Mullin in 1986. She was a member of the Mullin Methodist Church. She was a worked as a clerk and a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Gray and husband Louie of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Christy Allen of Goldthwaite and Jason Evans of Mullin; several great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Johnson and husband Barney of Abilene; brother-in-law, Johnny Campbell of Mullin; and sister-in-law, Mary Petty of Brownwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Petty and Cordelia Adams Petty; her husband, Pete Chesser; her son, Larry Chesser; three grandchildren, Michael Chesser, Ken Evans and Brandon "Bart" Chesser; her brothers, George Petty Jr., Glynn Petty and Ted Petty; her sisters, Virginia Campbell and Minnie Doris Petty.
Peggy married Norman Gail Chesser, son of Ernest Chesser and Jewel Perkins, on 26 Feb 1946 in Mullin, Mills County, Texas.
