'Rube' Hammond Final Rites Set Thurs., Jan. 6
The funeral for T. L. "Rube" Hammond of Goldthwaite will be Thursday, January 6, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating at the rites will be Rev. Doug Holtzclaw and Rev. Jack Vaughn. Burial will be in the Oakview Cemetery at Mullin, Texas.
Mr. Hammond died Monday, January 3, 1994 at Brownwood Regional Hospital, Brownwood, Texas. He was 89 year of age.
Mr. Hammond was born October 21, 1904 in Lampasas County, the son of George Quitman and Rosa (Davee) Hammond.
He was a Baptist. He had lived in Mills County all of his life.
He married Inez Spinks on January 16, 1938 in Mills County.
Survivors are his wife, Inez; one son, Bobby Royce Hammond of Goldthwaite; one granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Hammond of Lumberton; three great grandchildren; step mother, Irea Hammond of Goldthwaite; one sister, Nelda Charlene Tigner of Plano; one step sister, Vernell Cunningham of Goldthwaite; and two step brothers, Perney Chaney of Clifton and Jack Channey of Mullin.
Serving as pallbearers were George Hammond, Gary Hammond, Ray Michael Hammond, Bruce Hammond, Coy Hammond, Jimmy Smith, and Edwin Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Lee Huffman and Howard Hoover.
Rube married Annie Inez Spinks, daughter of Joseph Monroe Spinks and Mauda Mae Davis. (Annie Inez Spinks was born on 11 Dec 1906 in , Mills County, Texas and died in 2003.)
