Marjorie Alexander
Marjorie Voleta Newton Alexander, 96 years of age, of Star, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, in Brownwood Hendricks Hospital from complications associated with the Coronavirus. She was born on April 12, 1924, in Hamilton, Texas, to Clarence C.C. Newton and Maude Mae Eppler. Marjorie was the youngest of 8 children and attended school in McGirk and Pottsville and graduated from Star High School.

On May 30, 1942, Marjorie married W. L. Alexander, and while W.L. was in WWII, their first child Vireta was born and then later a son, Troy, was born.

Marjorie was a faithful member of the Star Church of Christ. She stayed busy as a homemaker, seamstress, and later as a rancher after she lost W.L. in November 1970. In later years, she busied herself quilting and was a member of several quilting clubs. She made many beautiful quilts and shared them with families.

Marjorie is survived by her children Vireta Parker and Troy Alexander of Star. Grandchildren include Kandice Prescott and Shannon of Stephenville, Roger Parker and Misty of Garden Ridge. Great grandchildren include Morgan Prescott Livingston and Jacob of North Carolina, and Meagan Prescott of Stephenville and also Dylann, Liam and Pierce Parker of Garden Ridge.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband W.L. Alexander, son-in-law Charles Parker, and sister: Beulah Adams, Lora Adams, Elna Berry, Ona Seward, and brother: Cyril Newton, Alvis Newton, and Calno Newton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Star Church of Christ or Star Fire Department. 1
