Phillip T. Carr Phillip T. Carr, 74, of Godthwaite, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, in Brownwood.
Mr. Carr was born Oct. 16, 1943, a son of Garner Carr and Velva Koen Carr, in Caradan, Texas.
He graduated from Goldthwaite High School, and attended Cisco Jr. College. On May 12, 1965, he entered the U.S. Army, serving his country in the 7th Division MP Company. When he was discharged, he returned to Goldthwaite, Texas, where he lived for the rest of his life.
He married Janan Gray on Aug. 19, 1967. They had been married 50 years and six months.
Mr. Carr and his wife ran a cafe and private club for 24 years. He loved to hunt, play golf, stock showing with his sons, country music and dancing, and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and was baptized at the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janan; two sons and their wives, Stacy and Tracey Carr of Comanche, Texas, and Culley and Tracy Carr of Goldthwaite; five grandchildren, William, Jordan, Kenna, Harper, and Garner Carr; many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Bobby, Johnny, AG Jr., and Glen Carr.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home. 2
