Marie Hamilton of Goldthwaite, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Goldthwaite. She was 89 years of age.

Marie was born March 8, 1928 in Mills County, Texas to Henry Bessent and Martha Hawkins Bessent. She married Bill Hamilton on January 3, 1947 in Goldthwaite, Texas and lived in Roscoe, Texas for about 20 years. They also lived in Hale Center, Texas for a year. They moved to Goldthwaite in 1966. She was a Methodist and made her living as a LVN and Nursing Administrator after being a nurse.

Services were held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Goldthwaite, Texas. Pastor Sheldon Johnson officiated. Interment followed at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwaite, Texas.

Survivors include her children and spouse Linda Schuster & Ronald, Goldthwaite, Texas and Alvin Hamilton, Leander, Texas; grandchildren Brett Hamilton, Leander, Texas, Warner Schuster & Branda, Rosenburg, Texas; great grandchildren Madilyn Schuster and Weston Schuster; sisters-in-law Blanche Young, Goldthwaite, Texas and Frances Hamilton, Leander, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Bessent & Martha Hawkins Bessent; husband Bill Hamilton in 2005; four sisters; 3 brothers and grandson Darren Schuster.

Memorials may be made in Marie's memory to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 447, Goldthwaite, Texas 76844.

GOLDTHWAITE — Marie Hamilton, 89, of Goldthwaite, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Goldthwaite.

She was born March 8, 1928 in Mills County to Henry Bessent and Martha Hawkins Bessent. She married Bill Hamilton on Jan. 3, 1947 in Goldthwaite.

Survivors included her children, Linda Schuster and husband Ronald of Goldthwaite and Alvin Hamilton of Leander; grandchildren, Brett Hamilton of Leander and Werner Schuster and wife Branda of Rosenburg; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn Schuster and Weston Schuster.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four sisters; three brothers; and a grandson, Darren Schuster. ¹

Maudie married William Clifford Hamilton, son of Hamilton and Unknown, on 3 Jan 1947 in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas.
