Charles Ed (Charlie) Welch

Charles Ed (Charlie) Welch of Bryan, Texas passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at College Station, Texas. He was 86 years of age.

Charlie was born May 30, 1927 in Center City, Texas to William Harry Welch and Lillian Knight Welch. He married Lois Dee Eiland on October 27, 1951 in Midland, Texas. He was a life long resident of Texas, having been born and raised in Mills County, He also lived and worked in Midland and Corpus Christi, Texas and was a long time member of Texas Surveyors Association. He made his living as a land surveyor.

Services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Goldthwaite, Texas. Bro. Doug Holtzclaw will officiate.

Interment will follow at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwiate, Mills County, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Dean Eiland, Steve Wood, Troy Eiland, Troy Welch, Eiland Wood, Scott Welch, Eddie eiland, and Rocky Welch.

Survivors include his wife Lois Dee Welch, College Station, Texas; children Charles Sterling Welch and Debra, College Station, Texas, Dr. Byron Russell Welch and Roxann, Austin, Texas, and Laura Welch Arthur & Robert, College Station, Texas; grandchildren Charles Kevin Welch, Melissa Welch Poling, Kathryn Welch Martinez, Rachel Welch, Emily Welch, Matthew Arthur, Bradley Arthur, Andrew Arthur; seven great grandchildren; sister Janetha Henkes, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Harry and Lillian Welch; brothers Carlos Welch and Joe Bill Welch.

He was a faithful loving husband and father who will be long and fondly remembered by his family and many friends.

Charles married Lois Dee Eiland, daughter of Troy Eiland and Mary Robinson, on 27 Oct 1951 in Midland, Midland County, Texas.
