Cody Owen Day Sr., 77, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in Fort Worth. Service: 2 p.m. Sunday in Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Glen Rose. Interment: Baker-Lain Cemetery in Johnson County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Cody was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Stephenville to Robert and Laura Day. He enjoyed fishing, camping and attending chili and bean cookoffs. Cody loved to have a good garden. Cody was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Day; a son, Cody Day Jr.; sister, Chloe Reiser; and grandson, Seth Merriman. Survivors: Daughter, Robbi Steele of Blum; son, Matt Day of Mineral Wells; brother, B.R. Day of Benbrook; grandchildren, Justin Day and wife, Krystle, and Julie Day, all of Glen Rose, Dusti Day of Tolar and Tyler and Austin Day of Mineral Wells; great-grandchildren, Coby Merriman and Allie Day; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cody married Edna Marie Kincheloe, daughter of Grover Chandler Kincheloe Sr and Eva Oneda Newby. (Edna Marie Kincheloe was born on 22 Feb 1943 in Star, Mills County, Texas, died on 12 Jul 2005 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and was buried in Baker Lain Cemetery, Johnson County, Texas ².)
