Mr. House Dead
A brief notice was given in this paper last Saturday morning of the death of Mr. F. M. House, which occurred at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. C. P. Jones, in this city at 2:30 o'clock that morning.

Mr. House was a citizen of this county for a long time, having lived in the Center City community from before the formation of the county until two years ago, when he sold his farm and moved to this city. The early part of this year he moved to House, N. M., where he bought land and made improvements on it, expecting to make his home there. He became ill with pneumonia and never recovered from the effects. A few weeks ago one of his sons, Mr. T. H. House of Center City, went to New Mexico to accompany him and Mrs. House back to this city, with the hope of his recovery, but the improvement was only temporary. For about two weeks he declined gradually and then the end came. He was confined to his bed six months, almost to the hour.

Mr House was one of the best men Mills county ever claimed and those who knew him best honored and esteemed him most and realize that a good and true man has gone to his reward.

Francis married Laura Ann Hamilton, daughter of Alexander Hamilton and Ann Robertson, on 22 Mar 1866. (Laura Ann Hamilton was born on 29 Oct 1845 in Arkansas, died on 25 Feb 1928 in Star, Mills County, Texas and was buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery, Hamilton County, Texas.)
