Mrs. Letha May Soules, age 80, of Gatesville, formerly of Star, passed away September 13, 2005, in Gatesville.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 16, at the Hurst Ranch Cemetery near Star with Chaplain Dar Evans officiating.

Letha May was born on February 9, 1925, at Star, Texas, to the late Louie and Brownie Mason Karnes. She married Luther Soules on June 11, 1943, in Goldthwaite, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elsworth Karnes, Carl Karnes, Fuzzy Karnes and Frank Karnes; and a sister, Corene Thomas.

Mrs. Soules is survived by her husband of 63 years, Luther Soules of Gatesville; children, Jimmy Soules and wife Linda of Aledo, Texas, Wanda Bradshaw and husband Joe of California and Donna Mauldin and husband Mark of Cedar Park, Texas; grandchildren, Tim Soules and wife Michelle of Aledo, Holli Thrailkill and husband Jason of Nevada, Jennifer Alford and husband Russell of Lipan, Justin Rind and wife Danielle of Nevada, Michael Bradshaw and wife Shanna of Dallas and Nathan Bradshaw and wife Jennifer of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Amanda Thrailkill of Nevada, Kameron and T.J. Soules of Aledo, Jacob and Kaili Rind of Nevada, Mya Alford of Lipan and Jonah and Logan Bradshaw of Dallas; brothers, Oscar Karnes of Eagle Pass and Jim Karnes of Lorena; and sisters, Nelda Karnes of Gatesville and Bonnie Calaway of Amarillo.

The family would like to give their heart filled thanks to the staff of Vista Care Hospice and Hillside Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful and compassionate care shown to their loved one over the past month.

Letha married Luther Hugh Soules, son of James Fowler Soules and Margarette Emily Boykin. (Luther Hugh Soules was born on 12 Jun 1922 in Star, Mills County, Texas, died on 19 Feb 2012 in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas and was buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery, Hamilton County, Texas ².)
