He was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Denton County. He moved to Hockley County in 1926. He married Annie B. Barnes on Nov. 4, 1933, in Levelland.
He was a member of the Oddfellows, the men's downtown Bible class, and was a charter member of Second Baptist Church. He was named Pioneer of the Year in 1995. He was a retired farmer.
