  General Notes:

At the time of the 1860 census, Michael was living in Goliad, Goliad County, Texas, where he was wagoning. He had personal assets of $200. He and Eliza had one child, willis 5/12 years old. Two girls, Kate and E. Yarbora (?) were listed with his family. Perhaps these are sisters to his wife, maiden name Yarbrough. At the time of the 1870 census, Michael was a retail merchant in Belton, Bell County, Texas. He had real estate valued at $3000 and personal assets of $3000. Eliza Light, born about 1843, Sidney born about 1864, Sonora born about 1866, and Matilda born about 1869 were also listed with his family. The children were all born in Texas. Eliza was born in Missouri. At the time of the 1900 census, Mike was a farmer in Bell County, Texas. He owned his farm free of mortgage. He was widowed by 1910. At that time his daughter Annie, born about 1862, and her 1 year old daughter, Willie, were living with him in Belton, Bell County, Texas. G. C. Eads was the informant on his death certificate.

• Military Service: Pvt, 17th Regiment, Texas Infantry (Allen's), Confederate States Army: the Civil War. His pension file number was 25714. He applied on 23 Aug 1913 in Bell County, Texas.

Michael married Eliza J. Yarbrough, daughter of Absalom Yarbrough and Unknown, about 1856. (Eliza J. Yarbrough was born in Dec 1839 in Tennessee ³ and died before 1910.)
